This page explores some of my best pieces of work, where I explore fashion as sculpture, using structure, texture, and textile manipulation to push beyond traditional silhouettes. From delicate floral designs with hand-dyed fabrics and 3D embellishments to bold, avant-garde pieces, I experiment with sustainability, reconstruction, and historical influences.
Flower Dress #1
This final garment is inspired by botanical structures, using natural dyeing, lino printing, and sculptural fabric manipulation to create a bold, organic silhouette. Layered petal-like panels are reinforced with wire to achieve volume and movement, while rope-wrapped structural elements mimic floral reproductive structures.
Inside Outside Dress
The body's anatomical structures inspired this dress. he corset-style bodice is hand-embroidered with white and red beaded blood cells, while ink-dyed chiffon creates a fluid, organic texture that mimics the movement of blood through the body.
Flower Dress #2
This floral garment explores how fabric manipulation and colour application can mimic the organic beauty of blooming flowers. The fabric was hand-dyed using ink and spray techniques, creating a soft, natural bleed effect that enhances the delicate feel of the garment. Sculpted chiffon flowers, individually cut and shaped, cascade down the dress, adding texture and movement.
Hoop Dress
This avant-garde garment explores fabric manipulation, structure, and texture, combining patchwork, layering, and mixed textile techniques to create a sculptural silhouette. The densely gathered shibori bodice adds an organic, almost protective feel, contrasting with the delicate, layered skirt, which incorporates patchwork fabric, printed textiles, and chiffon for depth and movement.
Digital & hand-drawn fashion
This set of hand-drawn fashion illustrations is inspired by three fashion exhibitions I visited: Crown to Couture, BIBA, and Chanel. Each design reflects the themes and aesthetics of these iconic styles while incorporating my own creative approach. Photographs of these exhibitions can be found on my Instagram.
This collection of digital fashion illustrations explores sculptural silhouettes and geometric forms, pushing the boundaries of structure and movement in garment design. Each piece plays with exaggerated proportions, layering, and unconventional shaping, drawing inspiration from architecture and organic forms.
Felting photographs
The textile samples above are made using a technique called felting, the work was inspired by an artist called Moy Mackay, who turns everyday photographs into bright and bold textile pieces.
The Cardboard Dress
Exploring different manipulations and materials for garments. This dress was made using packing boxes and brown paper for the embellishments. This piece explores structure and form through the unconventional use of cardboard. Inspired by architectural shapes, the garment transforms a rigid material into a sculptural silhouette.
The Shirt Dress
This deconstructed-reconstructed piece reimagines the classic checkered shirt by blending structured tailoring with fluid draping. The exaggerated cuffs and layered peplum add movement, contrasting the traditional plaid.
The Denim Corset
This patchwork denim corset explores fabric reconstruction and embellishment, transforming recycled denim into a structured garment. The design incorporates free-motion embroidery and intricate beading, creating bold floral motifs that contrast against the geometric patchwork.
